Democrats and the Kamala Harris campaign have been quick to tout endorsements from establishment figures like Liz and Dick Cheney, along with other Bush-era officials. This week, President Trump received a far more meaningful endorsement from those who truly understand the stakes.
More than 400 national security and foreign policy officials, ex-Cabinet members, retired military officers, and Gold Star families have endorsed Trump in an open letter, denouncing the Biden-Harris administration’s foreign policy blunders. Organized by former National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien and former NSC Chief of Staff Alex Gray, the letter is a powerful statement on the current administration’s failures and why Trump is the leader needed to restore America’s security.
The letter makes it clear that the world was a far safer place under Trump. “From a world at peace under President Trump, we are closer to a third world war than ever before under the Biden-Harris Administration,” the letter states. It points to the growing threats America now faces, from escalating global conflicts to an open southern border that has “allowed terrorists to flood into the American homeland.” The letter highlights how malign actors like China have been operating freely and dangerously, a situation that has developed due to the Biden-Harris administration’s failure to project strength on the world stage.
Eleven family members of the 13 U.S. service members, who were tragically killed at Abbey Gate during the disastrous 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal also signed the letter. Their endorsement was a poignant reminder of the sharp contrast between Trump’s leadership and the catastrophic decisions made by the Biden administration. “When President Trump took office, the war in Afghanistan had dragged on for almost 16 years,” the letter reads. “By February 2020, a peace agreement was reached, ensuring no American soldier was killed in combat until the end of the Trump Administration.”
The signatories emphasized how this agreement held firm under Trump’s leadership because “the Taliban understood President Trump’s resolve and U.S. forces were prepared to ensure their compliance.” In contrast, the Biden-Harris administration’s reckless handling of the withdrawal left American troops vulnerable, leading to the unnecessary deaths of 13 service members and leaving billions of dollars of U.S. military equipment in the hands of the Taliban. As the letter puts it, “The botched withdrawal from Afghanistan…made [the Taliban] the most well-armed terror organization in the world.”
The letter is signed by several high-profile Trump administration officials, including former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley. It also includes signatures from 40 retired U.S. ambassadors, 75 senior military officers, and hundreds of Republican officials, all of whom lauded Trump’s diplomatic successes and firm foreign policy approach. In praising Trump’s role in the Abraham Accords and cease-fire agreements between Turkey and Kurdish fighters, the letter refers to him as a “peacemaker.”
“Securing peace is in the greatest tradition of American foreign policy and the Judeo-Christian principles upon which our nation was founded,” the letter continues. Citing the words of Jesus from the Gospel of Matthew, it adds, “Jesus said, ‘Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be sons of God.’ Such is the legacy of the Trump Administration.”
As the letter makes clear, Trump’s record reveals a sharp contrast to the Biden-Harris regime’s disastrous policies. With a country under threat and an open border, the call from these hundreds of national security experts, Gold Star families, and military veterans is a powerful reminder of why Trump is the only candidate who can restore peace and secure America’s future.
