Ben Affleck Left Stranded on Los Angeles Highway After EV Bronco Dies

After his pricey custom electric Ford Bronco broke down, famous actor Ben Affleck was left stranded on a Los Angeles highway. The 52-year-old actor was seen with his 12-year-old son, Samuel, going to a nearby gas station to get snacks as the two waited for a tow truck to come to retrieve the custom rendition of the classic vehicle.

Users on social media reacted to the incident, with some blasting the idea of turning the classic SUV into an EV.  “That’s sacrilegious to turn that Bronco into electric,” one person wrote.  Another commented in agreement, “That’s an original Bronco! What an awful way to ruin a classic!”

Another person commented on the perceived lack of reliability among EVs, noting that average Americans with internal combustion engines often come to the rescue.  “Don’t worry all you virtue signalling actors – there are still plenty of us deplorables out here with our soot belching, coal burning, toxically masculine trucks to haul your…EV home,” they wrote.

Reports indicate that the Bronco Affleck was driving comes in at an exorbitant $465,000, costing more than the average price of a home in the United States.  The makeover of the iconic SUV is manufactured by Gateway Bronco, a company that makes custom, handcrafted electric versions of the highly sought-after classic vehicle.

The American Tribune reported on other concerns about EVs amid Hurricane Helene’s destruction. During one incident in Florida, an EV burst into flames as the garage it was parked in flooded, leading officials to warn residents about the dangers of lithium-ion battery fires during the natural disaster.  “Electric Vehicles that have been flooded in saltwater can catch fire,” a post from the Pinellas County Government on Facebook stated. “If you evacuated and left an electric vehicle or golf cart in your garage or under a building and you are not able to get to it or move it, we want you to let us know.”  Watch the incident below:
